How URC collects, uses, and protects information from people who visit uberreferralcode.com.
Last updated: May 13, 2026
URC is an independent publication of verified Uber referral codes, run by a single editor. We try to collect only what we need to make the site work, understand what readers find useful, and reach out when someone emails us. This page explains exactly what we collect, what tools we use, and your rights — in plain English.
The short version
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand traffic and behaviour on the site. We do not sell personal information. We do not run advertising on URC. We do not have user accounts. If you are a US resident, the rights described below apply to you. If you want a copy of what we have, a correction, or deletion, email hello@uberreferralcode.com and we will action it.
1. Who runs URC
URC ("we", "us", "our") is operated by an independent Uber driver in the United States. The contact email for any privacy question is hello@uberreferralcode.com. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Uber Technologies, Inc.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. If you email URC, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We keep emails in our inbox as long as they are useful for support; we do not import them into any contact list or marketing tool.
Information collected automatically. Like nearly every public website, our hosting provider (Vercel) logs basic request data — IP address, user-agent, referrer, requested URL, timestamp — for security, debugging, and abuse prevention. These logs roll over and are not retained long-term.
Analytics + behaviour data via third-party tools:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4). We use GA4 with IP-anonymisation enabled to count page views, see which pages readers spend time on, and understand which referral sources send traffic. GA4 sets cookies. Google may combine this with other data Google holds about a user. Google's policies: privacy · opt-out add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity. We use Clarity to record anonymised session replays (mouse movements, scrolls, clicks) and generate heatmaps. Clarity automatically masks form inputs — including any field that looks like an email, phone number, address, or credit-card field — so the replay does not capture what you type into a form. Clarity is a Microsoft product; their privacy statement covers their handling of the data.
3. Cookies
URC itself does not set any first-party cookies. The third-party tools above set their own cookies — primarily for analytics continuity (recognising returning visitors), session replay correlation, and Google's standard analytics functions. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time; the site will still work normally.
4. We do not sell or share personal information
URC does not sell personal information to anyone. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Sharing with our analytics processors (Google, Microsoft) is for the limited business purposes described above and is governed by their own terms.
5. Children
URC is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email hello@uberreferralcode.com and we will delete it.
6. Data retention
Google Analytics retains event data per Google's default schedule (typically 14 months for our property). Clarity retains session recordings for up to 90 days, after which the underlying data is automatically expired. URC's own copy of any correspondence (emails you send us) is retained as long as it is useful for support and then deleted on request.
7. Your rights (US residents)
State privacy laws give US residents specific rights over their personal information. The exact set of rights varies by state but generally includes:
- The right to know what we collect about you.
- The right to a copy of that information in a portable format.
- The right to correction of inaccurate information.
- The right to deletion of your information, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., legal compliance).
- The right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. URC does not sell or share data for advertising, so this opt-out is already the default for every visitor.
- The right to be free from retaliation for exercising any of the above.
These rights apply if you are a resident of California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), Texas (TDPSA), Oregon (OCPA), Montana (MCDPA), Iowa (ICDPA), Indiana (INCDPA), Tennessee (TIPA), Delaware (DPDPA), New Jersey (NJDPA), Minnesota (MCDPA), Nebraska (NDPA), New Hampshire (NHDPA), Maryland (MODPA), Kentucky (KCDPA), or any other state with a comparable law in effect when you read this. Where state law gives stronger rights than this policy describes, state law controls.
8. How to exercise your rights
Email hello@uberreferralcode.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and tell us which right you are exercising. We will verify your identity using reasonable means (typically by asking you to confirm the request from the email address you contacted us with) and respond within 45 days, extendable once by an additional 45 days where state law permits. There is no charge for the first request in any 12-month period.
9. Your Privacy Choices (California residents)
California residents may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. URC does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising; the opt-out is the default. To formalise your opt-out request anyway, email hello@uberreferralcode.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" and we will confirm in writing.
You may also use a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser to communicate this preference automatically; URC honours GPC for visitors whose browser sends it.
10. Security
URC is served over HTTPS. We do not store any personal information on our own servers beyond what is in our email inbox; analytics and session-replay data is held by the third-party processors named above and is subject to their security practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we use reasonable safeguards proportionate to the limited data we handle.
11. International visitors
URC is operated from and targeted at readers in the United States. If you visit from outside the US, your information will be processed in the US by our analytics processors. By using the site, you consent to that transfer. If you have rights under EU GDPR, UK GDPR, or a similar law, the rights in section 7 above also apply where the underlying right exists in your jurisdiction.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our tooling or the law changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For substantial changes affecting how we handle personal information, we will mark the change clearly. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
13. Contact
Privacy questions, requests, or complaints: hello@uberreferralcode.com. For a formal request, use the subject line conventions in sections 8 and 9 above so we can route it correctly. We aim to respond within 14 days and always within the timelines required by applicable law.
